    Default Distributer doesn't fit.

I am assembling a 1985 350 engine. I picked up someone else's failed project, so some of then work was completed.
Heads and pistons were installed at a machine shop.
Anyway, the distributer does not sit on the intake. There is about 1/2" to go. I am pretty sure it is in the oil shaft slot.

Has anyone experienced this? do the oil pump shafts come in different lengths?

Going out on a limb here... but is your distributor gear meshing fully with the oil pump? Half an inch is roughly the thickness of the dizzy's drive gear....
That's what it sounds like to me....
My lug nuts require more torque than your Honda makes.

Sounds to me like the put the oil pump driveshaft in wrong.

The oil pump was on the block when I purchased it. I will look at that today.

    Thanks for the replies.
