Default 01 Tahoe Sticky Gas Pedal

Anyone had the gas pedal get temporarily stuck while going from idle to accelerate? It does not stick wide open and a "tap" frees it up. I have went under the hood and put some oil on the cable and it didn't help. It almost feels like there is something binding somewhere up under the dash or where it goes through the firewall.
If it has four wheels and a steering wheel...you'll have to work on it.

Its happened to me before. I don't know what it was because just as suddenly as it started getting sticky, it stopped.

Sounds like throttle body butterfly could be sticking. My 2000 Tahoe does the same thing from time to time. I clean the butterfly area with throttle body cleaner. That takes care of the sticking for 4000mi. or so. Hope this helps!

ditto on the throttle body cleaner. My 2001 did it for a while and the dealership wanted to charge me $125 to clean it. Went to autozone and bought a can of cleaner. Problem solved.

Yep big problems with the pcv system into the intake hose. Change your pcv valve too. Carbon and oil build up on the butterfly in the throttle body and cause a sticky or gummy feeling. And it IS as simple as pulling the hose off and spraying some cleaner all around in there. Be carefull not to get any "throttle body" cleaner or anything else on the MAF sensor if your spraying near it. Most those cleaners leave a small resadue and it will affect your sensor and cause a ruff run condition and check engine light to come on.

Same problem here. It's not all the time either. I'll have to check that pcv and do some cleaning. I bought this truck two weeks ago and havn't done anything under the hood yet. It has 133,000 miles on it. Been having a little trouble getting it to start right away sometimes.
