    Default Tire Lettering

Has anyone attempted to paint the lettering on their tires if so did you have any luck making the paint stick without flaking off after driving it a few days?

I think the colour has to be infused in the rubber or it will simply come off?

I have tried vinyl and regular auto paint but nothing sticks. I got a lead on trying model paint. I may try it next! Thanks for replying!!!

What do you think? Does the red lettering look ok?

I like it ... if it stays red. If you don't already know, General Grabbers can be had with red letters. Link: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...yp=Truck%2FSUV

I have seen it on some tuners, that they use a sharpie on white lettering, don’t always come out good and you have to keep up on it.

I used a metallic paint pen on the outline of my Dick Cepeck letters. It lasted about 2 months.

if you took the time to do just a smidge of prep work, i.e. sanding it a bit, then taping and paint then clear it, it may last a fair while.

I think it is an interesting idea. I think it would look good on certain color trucks,as in red trucks. Let us know the durability of this mod.
