Default Worst brake rotor I have ever seen

I stopped by a neighbors house today and he was helping a friend do a brake job. He said that they were grinding pretty badly. I guess that you can say that they were custom rotors. I have never seen someone grind an entire surface off of a rotor. The Vehicle was a Sunfire.

Now that gives a whole new meaning to slotted rotors. That reminds me of something I would have done when I was a kid. just keep running it as long as you can stop.

Mine weren't that bad but they were CLOSE! Had maybe 1/8 inch of metal left. Thats what happens when you ride yours brakes almost 1/2 mile down a tall bridge with 4 tons of sanbags on a trailer and in the bed.

If at first you don't succeed, chances are, you are using too small of a cheater bar

I wonder how much longer it would have made it! The fins had worn down significantly also. The pad was gone. There was just about half the backing plate left.

Certainly got his money's worth out of that set of brakes. Doesnt look like any warping issues either, the fins are all worn down evenly.

Wow thats funny.... The guys that rotated my tires a week ago looked at my rotors and they asked me when I replaced them last..... and I said I have never replaced them..... 214k miles and the only thing wrong is that they have a 2mm lip all the way around the outside like a dish because I have worn them out that much...... the they are still about an inch thick though, no were near the fins.
