Toyota and Dodge were the last ones to make a "medium" pick up with the option of a V8. the problem is they just priced them too high.

They were the same, or more, than a full-size priced out-the-door, with 4WD...so no one bought them.... which is foolish because when it comes right down to it, a lighter and more manuverable truck with 4WD, which can tow a boat should easily outsell other weight classes.

maybe it came down to weight class vs. emission standards... thats what killed diesel engines in anything smaller than a 2500 truck weight class.
CARB (california air resources board) emissions... morons... lol
