Default new guy from NH with some questons

    Hello everyone,
My name is Brian and my project truck has a few quirks to work out. was hoping to get some opinions on which direction to go. My truck is a 1990 silverado 4x4 with the 350. a few weeks ago i parked too close to a curb with the front tires and got it stuck in park. i was able to get it away from the curb to relieve the stress on the tranny and get it in gear. however since then everytime i park on even the slightest incline i have to rock the truck to get it out of park. it shifts perfect once out of park but when i'm by myself its a little tricky to do and i probably look crazy to the people around me. my question is what i need to do to fix this. i've checked the linkage from the column all the way to the tranny and nothing is broken or looks like its getting hung up. is there a pin or something i could have bent? if so where should i look to find it? I really appreciate any help. this project is also my daily driver so i need to fix this issue asap.
    thanks

Hi Brian and welcome to the club!! It sounds like something is possibly hanging up in your steering column. Ive seen this issue with the cable that possibly runs up from the brake(wich has to be pressed to move the shifter) causing this issue. If you originally had forced the shifter it could have broken the spot where the cable attaches in the column. This is just an uneducated guess. In the meantime if your e-brake works you could always just start it in neutral until you figure out the issue. Good luck.
