    Wink Air Conditioning Woes

I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado. When using the air conditioner periodically starts blowing hot air. T stop, I shut down motor and retart and the air conditioners blows cold air. Happens coiuple times a week.

Any others had this problem? How to fix?

It's a malfunctioning blend door behind the dash, mine did the same thing last week. When you shut off the engine it resets it. Don't know what the fix is but it's probably not cheap! They never are!

Mine is doing this also. Adam, what is a "blend door"?
Has any one else had this happen and if so, did they get it fixed?
    Thanks, Glen

do yall have the dual zone a/c? mine does the same thing and i have to turn the truck off to restart it, but i've noticed that its only the two driver side vents (one on the left, one in the middle) that blow hot air, the two passenger side vents continue to blow cold.

If you have a dual zone climate control and it blows warmer on the driver side it means that you are low on r134a freon, get a set of ac gauges and check for low side pressure, run the truck with the ac on high for at least 10 min to let the pressures stabilize with the gauges connected, you need at least 35 lbs on the low gauge when the compressor is engauged, when the compressor kicks off the low pressures will rise, this is ok, you want the pressure reading when is engauged. You will prolly need only 1 can of freon, but do not over fill the system. Good luck, let us know what yall find.

I installed an aftermarket stereo this evening, ran my battery low and had to jump start it. Now my driver side blows only hot, while passenger works fine (mine are dual zone). I'd sure like to hear what is the cause and how much to fix.
