Thread: Removing resonator
08-31-2012, 09:10 PM #1
Ok im fairly new to the truck scene, Ive had my "Rado" for about 2 months now. Today I got a Flowmaster 40 Original with dual dumps before axle put on and its indeed deep. My question is, how would it sound without the resonator? It is big and ugly and I really want to remove it but I hate to lose such a good sound. Im not worried about cabin sound, im 20 years old lol. I have a 2011 Silverado 4.8

If you like the way it sounds, I would leave it alone!"It went together didn't it? Well then there has to be a way to take it apart!" - Me.

Just was weighing my options, I know GM has a tendency to make restrictive exhaust systems. Just was wondering how it would sound without it.

I have the 6.2 in mine, and I put a flowmaster 50 on and deleted the resonator. I can not tell that much of a differance when crusing.
It is a little louder under hard exceleration, but I think it sounds good. My two cents
