Hey guys, anyone happen to know what the factory wheel and tire size on a 2005 Silverado 1500 LT?

Ok, scratch that, the truck has P265/70R17 on it. So... tirerack.com says 285/70 will fit on the 17x7.5 rim. Can anybody confirm this?

So do you think they would be alright on my stock 05 Silverado until I can get my body lift ordered and put on it? too wide and will rub? Thanks for the much appreciated advice

Yes they will rub. You can just put a leveling kit on and they won't rub.

I have 285/70/17 toyos on a bone stock 2005 crew cab z71 I put on last week, no rubbing at all and I didn't touch the bars at all.. I was more surprised since mine seems lower then most.... Instantly noticed trans shift points are off a bit and the truck is slower going from lightweight passenger rated bridgestone h/t's to the d rated toyo a/t's too new to notice gas issues yet, but a reprogram might be in the near future... I haven't had it on the highway yet to see how bad it is... But rides a ton better nowhere the amount of floating feeling while driving....

Good to know chew, that makes me feel better. A buddy of mine took four moto rims, 20", off his truck after he bought it and put different ones on so he would sell them to me for like 250-300 bucks. Now I have to decide if I can afford the lift at this point! hahaha what a problem to have

just to let you know the truck seems to shift fine now, Don't know if the computer needed time to adjust or if I just got used to it, but all is fine now.....
