So I have been reading about this "rattle" that my subby has developed, and I am a little scared. Last weekend, pulling a car trailer, I started drooling GM Autotrak II from the rear case on the nv246. The use of JB Weld got me home, now reading more about it, I see the whole oil pump chewing through the case thing. While limping it home, it developed this "rattle" that I also have been reading about. Supposedly some slip fit parts were used on the mainshaft instead of press fit? I'm assuming that these problems are helping each other out to destroy my tcase.

I know gm makes an "update" for the oil pump housing, but I also see a few aftermarket outfits make them as well. Has anyone done either of these fixes?

Looks like I will get to tear into something newer than a NP208..........

    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks much
