So, my screen on my factory head unit wont light up anymore, turned my truck on, head unit didn't light up, thought nothing of it, just thought i had the intensity of the light to my dash turned all the way down, but i didn't, it was right in the middle. So, now i'm using that as an excuse to start looking for a new head unit, my truck has 1 Din and a 1/2 a din head unit, right? What i was wondering, is there any head units that have in dash navigation that are a din and a half? I want to have an in dash navigation as i'm in my truck going to new spots of the city very often, and i don't know it that well. I don't want a dvd flip up because i'm afraid i will break it, and that i would like to have my dash flush and nothing sticking out. Will i have to settle for a 1 DIN head unit?

    Thanks

Lots of choices at www.crutchfield.com Installation instructions, video's. It will give you a good starting point.

Finding a decent din and a half head unit will be a chore. They are a lot less popular.

Should probably just settle for a single din unit like this one?

Anything is possible, for a price of course. You can easily modify your dash to accept a 2 DIN head unit. Just start reading up on fiberglassing. Or go to a custom shop, they can do it very easily, and then you can have the head unit of your choice. This is in a 98 Tahoe, looks factory.
