1955 Chevy 3800 Body Swap?

I just bought a 1955 Chevy 3800 3/4 ton. It is a long bed step side but the bed has been replaced with a steel flat bed. I was wondering if the body will bolt to a 1989 G20 Van frame? My friend recently did a body swap on a 57 short bed over to a 1987 Custom Deluxe frame with no problems. I have the van and am getting ready to part it out. Would like to get started on the 55 soon and do away with the suspension and 8 lug wheel setup. This would turn it into a shortbed (don't mind long bed stepsides are hard to find around here). Any help is appreciated.
