1986 Chevrolet Silverado

    Got this from my dad this weekend and have several questions hope yall can help it has 305 first question is it has 2 feul tanks anyone know how much fuel each one holds ?

    If I remember correctly they are 16 gallons each.

    That's right found the owners manual said two 16 gal tanks thank you
    next question why and what can I do to improve fuel milage it's a gas hog
    So far I've changed air filter that's it. Just bought some new valve cover gaskets one is bad gonna replace both ofcourse

    I believe it only has one pump since they werent in the tank. it was a valve/actuator or something in the line that switched tanks. Not much to do to improve fuel economy, but tune up is always the first place to start if it hasnt been done in a while.

    I've not owned a truck with two tanks b4 wasn't sure thanks for the reply
    I am amazed how much fuel it uses it has a 305 my old 95 had a 350 heck I was thinking smaller engine better mpg boy was I ever wrong !
