I have a 93 suburban that sounds and drives fine in 2x4 but when engaged into 4x4 lo or high there is a loud metal on metal sound. Sorta sounds similar to old brake pad grinding on rotor. Truck acts likes its under a heavy load when put into 4x4 also. Please any help would be appreciated. Transfer case is full of fluid.

Welcome to the club. How many miles since t/case fluid was changed and is it a manual or push-button t/case?
