1994 GMC Suburban Broken Tailgate

    I have no clue how but on my 94 suburban the latch broke right off where it was attached. it wasnt a bolt that come loose because the bolt is still attached. here is a video of it. please reply if you know how to fix this

    I'm no expert, but it looks like the frame work that the hinge attaches to rusted out. That may be a place where water accumulates. You might be able to pull the tailgate and molding off and have a plate welded in or have the rust repaired, then re-attach the hinge. Considering what it looks like, I don't see any other fix.
