1994 Suburban Engine missing

Discussion in 'GM Powertrain' started by mcgee1756@hotmail.com, Aug 3, 2010.

  1. I'll start by saying I'm not much of a car guy...

I bought a 1994 Suburban 7.4 L a year ago. 87,000 original miles. Took it into the mountains and it was missing like crazy coming up the mountain passes. Seems to idle just fine, seems to drive fine in town going under 45 mph.

Any advice on what to try? Onlything that comes to my mind is getting new plugs and wires.

On top of the plugs, wires. You will want to do a cap and rotor, and air filter if it hasnt been done recently, and a fuel filter. It also wont hurt to do a Seafoam treatment to the motor (there are a ton of threads if you search you will see that have instructions and feed back)...
Then if you still have the problem you can go from there...
  3. thanks, I will try these
