Last week my suburban developed a rythmic squeal at low speeds and when stopped while in gear. It doesn't start to squeal until it's been driven for about 5 miles and its only at low speeds. It seems to be one squeal per engine rotation. At first I thought it was the serpantine belt or idler wheel or tensioner. All checked out fine as well as all front pulleys. When I went underneath with a stethoscope it was coming from the rear of the engine. It was loudest at the remote oil filter housing. When I couldn't find the noise in the front I was expecting to find the torque converter had eaten a hole in itself, but it was further forward and loudest to the side...Any Ideas on where to start? It has 234K, runs great, shifts great, 4x4 is fine. Only issue is that it burns a little oil, but static and snap compressions are all in range. No codes. Thanks! Greg
