I have a 1998 Silverado K1500 5.7L 175,000 miles. I drove to work today and when I got there I noticed it was leaking coolant from what appeared to be the heater hoses at the heater core. Upon inspection I found it is actually coming from a "spout" that is next to the heater hoses on the core, this is a rubber hose about the same diameter as the heater hoses and makes a 90 degree bend pointing downward. Does this mean I have to replace the heater core? If I do, do I have to remove the dash, or can I just remove the plastic "oil pan" looking part on the passenger side in the cab? Thanks in advance for your expertise.
