2001 Chevy Suburban turn signal starts windshield wipers

    The windshield wipers in our 2001 Chevy Suburban start everytime the left turn signal is used. Please provide recommendation of the least expensive way to repair this. Many thanks!

    Replace the Turn Signal switch in the steering column.

    I agree with the suggestion to replace the switch on this one, but you could try cleaning it first. On my friend's Grand Am, the wear in the switch caused the metal dust from the contacts to build up in the grease, which caused it to become conductive and make the turn signal flasher click. You could have some sort of short with the same cause, so I would try to clean it first. Just open it up, wipe the grease off with a cotton swap, and see if that fixes it. If not, then replace it.
