Steering clunck noise when driving slow and turning the steering wheel. Just had to post the fix for this problem. Since I am new, it may be an old fix, but bear with me if so. This thing was driving me nuts. Clunck, clunck everytime you turned the wheel. Of course everybody I took it to said, it won't wreck you, it is safe. Drilled and tapped a grease fitting just above the main bolt connecting top to bottom and filled it with grease. Drove 10-15 miles and it is gone. Yes gone. Anyone need specifics, e-mail and I will pass along.

Yup, the zerk fitting is the way to go. Sadly, the 'engineers' at GM haven't figured this out, as their kit STILL lacks one.

Love to have the specifics for this fix. Seems a whole lot simpler than the other one posted as a sticky...

Any one know if this will help with the steering wheel making a howling noise when slow turning?

Nope, chances are your howling noise is only when turning left. If that is the case then it is the gear box.
