2008 gmc sierra 4.8l wont crank

    go to turn the key and nothing happens everything seems to have power does anyone know what could cause this

    It could be a number of things. I recently had a battery problem with my 2008, especially after I would let my truck sit for a few days. I think that if the battery power drops low enough, it could still run the accessories but not have enough power to kick over the starter. Do you have a way to test the battery? I know my charger tells me how much % of power is left in the battery. When mine was acting up, it was reading about 20% or less and wouldn't hold a full charge for very long. I ended up replacing my battery which solved the problem.

    Seen a lot of issues with underhood electrical centers having water in them.

    Could be battery already mentioned, but you have an 08. I'd expect the OEM to last just a touch longer... I just replaced the OEM in my 04 Silv. It only had 9 volts. :)

    If the battery tests OK, then check the cables leading to the solenoid and starter. Also check the ground cable from the battery down to the frame.
