My son has a 2012 Sierra K1500, he was quoted like $350 dollars to change the fluids, not including the transmission. I am missing something here. Isn't that just draining and changing the front and rear diff and the transfer case, or is there some sort of special gear in these new trucks?? Thanks

sounds a little high, I think ours is around $120. Should just be front and rear diff fluid and the transfer case fluid.

the transfer case requires 2 qts at about 30 USD. the rear diff cover need be removed and the box/magnet cleaned that takes 2 qts 30 USD. front diff drain and fill another 30 USD. so about 100 for fluids and about 2 hours labor . should be 300 tops.

now if this the dealership then 350 USD would be about right.

OK thanks, maybe I'll do this for him and save him the 2 hours labor. Thanks again
