4.3L timing belt question

Is it recommended to change the timing belt on the 4.3L every 100k miles? I don't think it's necessary, but wanted to double check. Thanks.

Are you talking about the engine's internal timing chain that syncs the crank shaft and cam or are you talking about the serpentine belt.

I think you just answered my question Conlan. I was referring to the internal belt/chain. I couldn't recall if the 4.3 has a belt or chain, so if it's a chain, then no issues. (I change the serpentine belt almost annually.)

    Thanks again.

No problem! Yah GM uses chains because they last longer and work better with the small block design. Which is unlike my mom's Subaru that uses a timing belt not a chain.
