    I have a 2000 Chevy silverado v8 5.3 liter-- i tried putting it into 4 low and switched fine, but i pushed the gas pedal and it made a clunk- now it revs really high (rpms don't shoot up) the oil guage on the dash shoots way up when you hit the gas and it won't go faster than 20mph-- none of the buttons on the switch light up and doesn't do anything if u try to switch in 4 hi or low or anything- 4 wheel drive service lights on to,,,, but i have no idea wht it could b,, anyone with any suggestions?;

    it is locked in 4 low. it sounds like you might have an issue with the encoder motor not moving. You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reconnecting it. That might help reset whatever is going on in the 4wd system.
