Howdy folks, a newbie here. I'm not currently the owner of a chevy product, but am working on a trans in a 97' gmc suburban 6.5 diesel for a friend and am looking for advice. I rebuilt the trans with new seals, clutches, tq converter, etc, but did not touch the valve body other than to remove it from the trans case. Now that the trans is back in the burb, the slipping problem seems gone, but I can't get it to shift out of 1st. The only positions working are park and 1st, nothing else works. When pulled out of park into where reverse should be, it immediately goes to first and stays there until put back into park, regardless of selector position. The troubleshooting part of the ATSG rebuild manual says to check if the speed sensor is working, how would I test it? Or what else should I look at? Gear selector linkage?
    Thanks,
    -matt
