Hello all, I have just inhereted a 2004 Tahoe LT. My brother was not too good on maintenance. I have checked all fluids and have had some fluid and filter changes done. I need to know about the engine. Does it have a rubber timing belt or is it chain? Also, when do you all have the rear diff fluid changed? I have done the front but the rear is very difficult to get to. Thanks in advance.

On the 5.3 it has a timing Chain and on changing the Rear Diff Fluid,Chevy said you can go 100,000 miles before its needs to be service. On my Truck I changed the Rear Diff Fluid at 50k.

Yeah, I am at 90,000 just about so I figure i might as well do it now before the winter. What about the transfer case? What fluid for that and how often to change it? Thanks.
