5.7L Vortec Oil Pressure Sending Unit

    Hey fellas, my oil pressure guage is reading off the maps, anyone know where the sending unit is on a 1999 3500 or have a pic?

    This is out of a repair manual hope it helps....that is it by the oil filter

    On the 5.7 its by the distributer

    Ah Yes! Right beside the distrubuitr. I forgot to plug it in when I did the intakes. Thanks!

    So did you have to change yours?? i have read about needing a special tool for this, is that really true? My oil pressure is really low and I was gonna change the sending unit but in the chilton manual its asays you need a special socket or something like that.:neutral:

    No, all I had to do for mine thankfully, was connect the harness back together. Tell you this much there isn't much room back there.
