So my '65 chevy has been making a loud clicking noise, and i wanted see what you guys thought it maigh be. it's coming from the driver side of the engine, and my mom said it might be the valve lifter. And if it is how easy would it be to fix, or how much?

I also have trouble starting it again after it runs for a while, even after driving it for about ten minutes+, it won't start until sometimes hours later. The alternator is almost new, and I got a rebuilt starter then it began this. Could it be the starter? My parents think it's the wires, so i'm going to replace them, but I don't know if that will help, because it does start again without the wires being touched. I have full power to everything else, the starter just won't even crank.
