We have an 84 silverado and the engine went, so we picked up a 350 out of an 87 suburban. The silverado is an automatic trans and the suburban was a manual trans. I was told the bearing in the back needed to be removed? The flex plate doesn't line up either. What else needs to be done? Any and all information is greatly appreciated!

you can leave the bearing in there, its not going to hurt anything. The 1987 up blocks have a 1 piece rear main seal and have a different flex plate than the 1986 and down. You will need a flexplate for a 1987-up 5.7. These have a different bolt pattern and if I remember correctly they are externally balanced. The early 350`s are internally balanced.
