New to the forums, so
HEY Thur!

ive got a 1998 chevy 1500 that i just bought, to my knowledge with pure stock exhaust.
Im no mechanic but i do understand the whole exhaust situation.
Im just curious on what kind of exhaust to put on without leaving myself broke (im 17)..
somthing loud, but not wake up the whole neighbourhood loud.

plus the little mpg boost will be nice
Thanks :D

If it's all there, including the catalytic converter, just cut out the factory muffler, and install a piece of pipe to fit the gap. If the exhaust still goes over the rear axle, and to the rear bumper, this will give it a nice rumble, but will still most likely pass emmissions. Just don't hammer it till you clear your neighborhood.

will this increase mileage? and what if i took the whole pipe off and placed a wider one - maybe dual tips out the side

A Flowmaster 44 and 50 are pretty quiet inside and out and sound really good. I believe SurrealOne has a 50 series.
