I was unpleasently surprised the other day when I noticed a howling noise coming front end of my tahoe. I stopped at my local "pit crew" and buddy told me it was the left front wheel bearing causing the howling. I figured it was no problem to replace a bearing, but was informed that I needed to buy the whole hub assembly for 367.00 plus taxes as well as 1 hour labour. After I parted with 500.00 I couldn't help but wonder why GM in their infinite wisdow doesn't have a bearing system that can be replaced and repacked instead of making a simple bearing job cost a small fortune.????????????:grrrrrr:

The up side to this cost is that it is an easy install. Probably took me 30-45 minutes from start to finish on my 2004 K1500.
