I was helpping my son in law today. His truck wont start. Turns over but wont run. If you add some fuel on top the throttle body it will run for that fuel but then shuts down. The security light is flashing so we suspect the security system. The collar, for lack of a better name, where you insert the key in ignition has broken off a couple of months ago. He says that it has started since that part broke off. Behind that collar are two spring loaded pins that are popped out. Could this be activating the system? Cant really see a way to reattach it except JB Weld but that looks like a long shot. Is ther a simple way to take this system off line? Any ideas at all?
