Nobody has answered the question of if you go in for engine warranty work and the service tech sees the wrong filter on the engine.

I would imagine that you hear GM not honor the warranty if the wrong filter is used.

The Napa(Gold) 1522 filter you use is a Wix filter. According to the Napa site, there are 3 filters for your truck in the Gold category:

    1040
    1042
    1522

The 1522 appears to be longer than the 1040 and 1042.

Your truck in the ACDelco world takes a PF46 and the direct cross reference in the Wix catalog is the 51042 or the 1042 Napa.

Now for the 2013 Silverado 5.3L engine, the filter is a 57060 Wix or a 7060 Napa. There is no long version. Some people are stating that you can use the PF63 in place of a PF48, but there is not direct cross reference to my knowledge.
