    i jus got a 2010 1500 silverado with the 5.3..and it came with the active fuel management.i was woundering if anyone has disabled it and how does the truck run after doing it..feed back would be much appreciated.

    I talked with a guy who disabled his and he liked the way it drove with it disabled.

    Pretty easy to have AFM turned off through a tune. For your 2010 though, it will be hard to get your TCM (transmission) tuned, no handhelds can do it currently.

    No handhelds can not access the TCM for tuning, only the ECM (engine at the moment). You would need to find a tuner who uses a complete tuning suite (EFILive or HPTuners) to get a full tune.
