So i just bought my 04 silverado. I have a 6 inch suspension lift on the way but its just not big enough. I dont plan on putting the suspension lift on unitl spring when my chrom rims and tires go on. In the meantime id like to get a 3 inch body lift with gap guards to keep it looking clean. Is there any bad side affects like any kind of rattling squeeking or stress on any parts ?

They squeek and I've seen truck beds rub against the back of the cabs. I just don't like them. They show to much frame.

I like how you can see the frame. I just spent crazy amounts of time on prepping and painting underneath the entire truck. Its cleaner than a show truck under there. I dont like the look of the gap between frame and bed so thats why i would have to get the gap guards.

I don't like how much frame it shows below the doors. If you go to my album you can see my truck with a 6" lift and 35's.

Your truck looks good. Still not tall enough for me and mines an ls so its so small right now so i dont think mine would even be as tall as yours after the 6 inch suspension lift

If you want taller check out CognitoMotorsports. They have lifts from 6" up to I believe 12" for 1/2 ton trucks.

I forgot to say thanks for the compliment on my truck. Thats a old picture. I removed the door trim and it has a Warn grill gaurd with a 9.5XP winch.

i have a 6" lift with a 3" body with the gap gaurds but i also but the best top power steps on so it hides the frame and u cant really tell. but those power steps were crazy to get on and to get them to work right because by putting the body lift on it raised the cab so i had to have the body cab mounts kit and moved up but turned out awesome.

Bodylifts have been known to cause failure of body mount points and depending on the material used pucks have been known to fail.
Many of the issues with bodylifts can be cured by regular maintenance except for the gap issue.
An alternative to Gap Guards is to use pond liner, it costs a little less and can be trimmed up to fit in better.
