So my buddy needs new tires and wants bigger then the stock 245/70/16. I have heard of people putting 245/75/16 on but that's just a little difference. What about a 265/70/16 or possibly 265/75/16? Any info would be appreciated. Pics too maybe

First is it a 2wd or 4wd? On my 02, its 2wd and I can fit 275/55/20 that is alittle under 32" tire. So 265/75/16 would fit a 2wd. A 4wd sits alittle higher in the front so the tire size could go up if he does

Its 4wd. A 265/75/16 fits with no rubbing?

I would add that when Changing the Overall Diameter of your Tire Size, make sure to have the Vehicles Computer Reprogrammed for the change in overall diameter with the New Tire Size,

With the 2 tire sizes you've mentioned having the following overall diameter's,
The Stock Size Tires................245/70/16.....has an Overall Diameter of.....29.5in's
The one you've mentioned..... 265/75/16......has an Overall Diameter of.....31.7in's

This Change in Overall Diameter means.....When the Speedometer reads 60mp.....Actual Speed will be 64.3mph or 7.2% Faster.

Sorry that I missed this thread before.

The largest tire that will fit a stock Trailblazer is a 30.6" tire on stock wheels. That equates to 265/70R16, this limit is due to the design of the steering knuckle. If you have aftermarket wheels with a 25mm offset you may fit the 265/75R16 it will clear the steering knuckle but will rub on the fender liner.

GMT 360s can not make the adjustments prior to 2006 models in the computer. You can get the PCM retuned through PCM4less but they can not adjust the speedometer on anything older than the 06.

So I should probably go with a 265/70/16 instead of a 265/75/16 since it will be on stock wheels?

Definitely, unless you want to buy some wheel spacers to get them away from the steering knuckle.
