Bluetooth over Onstar button

I have just purchased a 2007 Silverado, I would like to be able to use the phone button beside Onstar for my hands free calls, with out having to purchase minutes from Onstar. Does anyone have a simular setup being used and if so what are you using. I've found some on the net but weary of how well they work and how many wires need to be cut in order to do so.

Any help or advise will be appreciated.

Didn't know it was possible .. you got a link to the adapter that does it?

I just ended up buying an aftermarket new head unit that had bluetooth built in.

Scosche makes a piece that adapts to give you bluetooth. Its called bluefusion. Im only familiar with those and put many in but not in the nbs yet. You have to tap into a power and ground but other than that it plugs in online with the stereo harnes you just have to run the microphone. I just put one in a new bonds and found out you can also stream from your phone. Not sure if its the same in the chevys but i would think so. Very very easy install although they are spendy. I know scosche is qaulity though.

I've never heard of that before as far as interfacing with your onstar itself. I wouldn't go that route it was me. Im not a huge fan of onstar itself. Plus that bluefusion piece you can get for about 200 bucks including install and like i was sayin you could probably also stream which is cool. I don't really trust that type of stuff where you can only buy it online and have no idea about the rep of the company. I know scoshe is a good company and make qaulity parts and i have never had trouble with the bluefusion piece.
