I want to do a 3'' body lift on my 07 NBS Silverado 1/2 ton and I cannot believe how much they want to install it. I already have the 2'' level kit and 2'' blocks in the rear so this would net me 5'' of lift, enough for 34'' tires. I've talked to two 4 wheel drive shops and they want between 1200-1500 just for labor. Does that seem high? Anyone else run this setup?

Their probably quoting three techs at 8 hours labor for $50-$60 expensive yep, but unfortunately it's the going rate.
Have you thought of getting friends together for a weekend wrenching party? Maybe if you offer to supply the drinks, BBQ, and Pizzas.
An off-road truck club I used to belong to had maintenance weekends once a quarter (or sooner if someone needed an emergency repair) where we got together and helped each other work on our trucks.

They are time consuming to install. If you have tools and some mechanical skills you can install yourself, just lay the kit out and go over the instructions TWICE.

Yes, that is extremely high! $500 is the norm where I live.

I only paid $350 to get my leveling kit took off all my stock suspension taken off and lift put on and done in the same day before i was back in town! I guess it was because i knew the guy at the GM dealership and he hooked me up since they did it on a weekend with another guy i know, so all in all we both helped each other out! If i were you if you know anyone at the dealership try to do that will save you allot of $$$ cash and you both will be happy!

If you have some mechanical skills do it yourself. Download the kit instructions that you are looking at from the website and see if you think you can do it, if not, find a buddy who is good with cars and borrow his abilities one saturday! I would not pay that much to have a body lift put on. It's time consuming but fairly easy to do, as long as you read the instruction and don't skip steps!

But thats just my opinion :)

Agreed. I wouldn't pay that much to have a suspension lift put on either FWIW.
