On my 1998 Chevy K-1500, my brake lights do not work all the time. They will work sometimes when I push on the brake pedal, but then not at other times. Could this be a bad switch? I'm not sure what the problem is. This just started happening today.

It could be the switch. I'm not sure if the wire is loose, or something else. I hope it is something easy, and someone can give you a answer soon. Good Luck!:glasses:

I would check for the following before replacing the switch:

    Bad ground.
    Corroded bulb sockets.
    Broken or frayed wire.

I had the same problem with an old Dodge pickup; it turned out to be a bad ground.

    Good luck.

Your tail light board might need a good cleaning as well...
