I have a 98 GMC 2500 4X4 with 16 inch tires. Can I go to the more common size 17 inch wheels and tires? Thanks.

Yes you can go to 17" wheels, but you'd have to get matching tires....ie you cant use 16" rims on a 35x12.50x17 tire. Hope this helps.

as for more common the 16 is way more common than the 17 and tires are cheeper buy you can change rim size as long as you get a tire that will fit

you will find better tire selection in the 17 alot of offroad tires favor a 17 and up selection because 16" custom wheels are'nt that popular not to mention if you can get in good with dirt racers there tires are almost always 17x12.50x35 and you can get em a little thrashed for 20bucks.i've been running off road only tires for years they come prebalanced from race cutting and there good for 120mph and the hoe4 runs pretty smooth up there
