Can't get my 2000 chevy s10 v6 4.3l to start

    Has spark, has fuel, has compression, battery works, new starter... I tore it down to replace the intake manifold gasket because it was leaking... There was coolant in the oil... I replaced the gasket changed the oil an coolant put it all back together an it won't start... Any ideas?

    Ok does it have air, fuel, and spark all at the correct time?

    I believe so... It sounds like it diesels out after you stop cranking it over but it won't start

    If the 2000 has a distributor, the timing is not right.

    I followed all the steps to set the timing how could I be doing it wrong... I set it to tdc on the compression stroke and slid the distributor in... It says the distributor only goes in one way so how could I have screwed it up

    I believe its still possible to get the distributer 180 out.
    And the Dieseling sounds a lot like its on the wrong stroke when its firing.

    Found a vacuum leak tho... Fingers crossed

    Still will not start... If I only crank it a normal amount of time it does nothing if I crank it for awhile and give it gas then it diesels out and backfires kinda and I little bit of smoke comes out the throttle body and it sounds like air is popping out the air intake
