Ok just did my first oil change since I had my beast!(2001 2500HD 6.0) I love the fact that I don't have to jack the truck up to change the oil LOL! So it was a 10 min process. Ok now for the silly question. How do I reset the message center to stop it from signalling "change engine oil"? I got the truck used the truck did not need a oil change at that point. Thanks in advance.

Turn the Key to the On Position, without Starting the Engine, Step on the Gas Pedal 3 Times, to the Floor within 5 seconds.....after you have done that, the Change Oil light will flash a couple times and if it does, your done.....If not just do it again.

I have a 2002 Silverado, this reset method is not working for me? Is there something I am missing?

That should be it. That i how i reset the monitor on my 02. Turn the key forward. Press the pedal to the floor 3 times (quickly) like 99heartbeat said, within 5 seconds. The message may come back on the next time you start it. but, after that it should be gone.

That's how I do it on my 04 Sierra, too. It's in the owner's manual, by the way...

Looks like I was beat to the punch. I don't own a nbs truck but my friend has an 01 8100 Burb and I've done this for her a few times.
