Since the Silverado turned 25 this year, I decided to put the effort in and clay bar the paint that was done in Flint Michigan a quarter century ago. The paint was in good shape, but now it's almost as radiant as when we brought it home on that April day in 1987. We followed up the treatment with a polymer top coat.

Where do you live that factory paint lasts so long. I live in the Central Valley of Calif and the roof of my 94 burb is rusting and the hood is down to the primer.

It must be the extra lead in the paint. ;-)

Beautiful truck, nice that you could preserve the original paint this long and a good clay bar really helps bring out the shine.
