    okay so i have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 z71 5.3l. ever since i towed a car back from arizona to colorado the rear end makes a clunk noise when i stop and take off. ive rebuilt the rear axle replaced the leaf springs and its still doing it! any ideas?

    Have you checked the u-joints on the driveshaft?

    yes and they look fine

    Check your transmission>? It may sound like your rear-end from inside the truck but it could be elsewhere.

    Grease up the driveshaft splines on the front yolk with teflon grease or the GM lube specified in the owners manual. Common problem, just did the same thing myself.
