You should post a pic of the rims, slim chance but someone might see them on another truck. You might want to take the fronts off and put on some scab, all they need is a new jack and they'll have set of four.

Yeah, I thought about the broken jack and the set of 4 too. I'm going to take 2 of my factory wheels over to the shop this afternoon so they can jack the back up and get it back on wheels. I think that when I have time later tonight after the back wheels are on, I'll take the other 2 over and swap them so that the thieves can't come back for my 20s.

On a positive note, my deductible for theft coverage is only $250 and my premiums won't increase for claiming the wheels & tires.

And the other good thing is that the thieves should have a pretty tough time trying to sell a pair of discontinued wheels that I've only ever seen 2 other sets of in the province over the course of the 4 years I've had them. They won't be much good to many people without the other half of the set.

Update: yesterday I dropped off my factory wheels at the collision shop so they could swap the front 2 and put wheels on the back. They weren't able to do it until today and the thieves came back for my 2 front wheels last night.

Taken by itself, this statement is a puzzler.

Well, I've finally got an update for you guys. I haven't been around much lately... busy with work, school, dismantling a 2006 Silverado to repair my Avalanche, etc.

Anyway, I finally got the 2006 Silverado torn down and the front section of the frame cut off just in front of the firewall. I dropped that frame section off at the bodyshop so they cut off the damaged parts on the Avalanche and weld the good section in its place. They figure about 2-3 weeks for the frame work to be done. In the mean time, I'm going to paint the insides of the fenders and hood the color of my Avalanche so that they are ready to be installed. Once the frame work is done, I will have it towed home, quickly install the radiator assembly, body panels, etc. in 1-2 days and drive it back to the body shop for the outer paintwork as soon as I have it running again. This way I should hopefully be able to get it back in time for a ski trip just after christmas.

And as far as my wheels go, I haven't seen them pop up for sale anywhere yet. My insurance company is going to pay out $2300 and change, so that gives me a $1000 budget to get a nice set of wheels and put another set of Cooper Zeon LTZ tires on with the other $1300. I shouldn't have too much trouble with that.
