I have a slightly custom paintjob on my truck. It is dated and needs a few places touched up, i.e. rust spots. I am thinking of sanding them down to bare metal and then priming them then putting a red primer and then a top coat, then wet sanding down the top coat until the red shows through. Kind of a modified patina paint job only on those spots and the roof.

I think it is a cool idea. But if you do it go all out with the patina.

There is a show on SpikeTV called Trucks. They did a full patina on a 50's GMC truck. It turned out bada$$
