I have a 05 Equinox and at 7000 miles we smelled a dead mouse smell in the antifreeze during an oil change. We brought it back to the dealer and they said the "wrong" anti freeze was put in at the factory. So the flushed the system and put all new hoses on. We thought the problem was over until at 65000 it over heated. We brought it back and the head gasket was bad. They claimed the bad antifreeze did not ruin the gasket. So I had the new head gasket and new brakes for $2900.00.

So watch out for the dead mouse smell!!!

I've never heard of something like this. Dead mouse smell?

At least you caught it under warranty.

The first flush and new hoses was under warranty at 7000 miles but the rest at 65000 i had to pick up. They said the head gasket couldn't be from the anti freeze but i think it was.
