2004 duramax 2500hd, the oil pressure guage started reading 25 psi higher last week than normal. now it drops way down when i accelerate only when the truck is warmed up. damn thing is full of oil, it was a half quart low, i added a whole quart yesterday. runs good, has 225k miles, new injectors, all the other guages are good. anybody know what is up with this? thx mike

You may need a new oil pressure sending unit if it reading like that. Generally it reads lower (30-40lbs) and when you accelerate it goes up past 60lbs.

I would check it with a manual gauge before you replace the sending unit. This will tell you if the gauge is reading accurately or not.
