Please, I know this is a simple question. What are the methods of engaging 4 WD on a 99 with selector lever. Like speeds at which to engage and wether to put in N to shift into 4L. Thanks

To shift into 4wd Low You need to be at ALMOST a complete stop, put the transmission into Neutral, shift transfer case through 4 High, Neutral and into 4 Low. Reverse directions for going back to 4 High. For just shifting into 4 High from 2WD..... Just lift your foot off the gas while you're driving and shift the transfer case into 4 High. ( I think it's recommended not over 55mph to shift into 4 High...)

all processes and speed limts for each range are listed in your owners manual, I would be careful what you are doing in 4LO as well, use it for what its intended
