I recently bought the Truck and there is no manual. How do you get the 4WD to work?

The 94 is shift on the fly to engage 4High. To engage 4low, stop the vehicle and while in park or neutral shift into 4low.

If it doesn't engage, the actuator is most likely the fault. The early 90's chevy's used a thermal actuator. In 97 or 98 GM converted to a electro-mechanical actuator. Replacing the thermal actuator will run you less than $100, converting to the later model actuator and harness is closer to $300. You might also consider the Posi-Lok cable operated actuator as an option.
